Trey Gunn, a native Texan who now resides in the Pacific Northwest, began his musical life at the age of 7. His interest in music grew through various instruments -- electric bass, electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards, and now the 8-string touch guitar.
He has toured and recorded with many modern day masters in their fields -- Robert Fripp, David Sylvian, Michael Brook, John Paul Jones, Toni Childs and Vernon Reid. He is currently a member of the most unusual band of rock history -- King Crimson.
Gunn, who's work has been described as "dense, undulating pools of experimental funk, ethno-trance and dreamy eloquence", is currently working on his fourth solo record.
"Warning! Do not listen to a Trey Gunn record while driving late at night or while operating heavy machinery. A hypnotic-like state may occur and you may be lulled into a trance or might find yourself driving into the sunset until you either run out of gas or out of road, whichever comes first. The sounds on his records are extraordinary!" - Bass Frontiers
"While some may compare Trey's solo work to his playing with King Crimson, there is a more patient attitude and atmosphere created that maintains an integrity and beauty only found where there is true mastery and creativity. Gunn's got it." - Rock Pile
